Mohammed Imad Ali works with the Central Shariah Group of HSBC Amanah in Dubai. Imad is a lawyer by profession. His main areas of functions are to assist in facilitating product development, training, Shariah compliance and audit for HSBC Amanah and to assist in transaction structuring and documentation from a Shariah perspective. Imad was working for a British Law Firm, Denton Wilde Sapte in their Islamic finance team prior to working with HSBC Amanah. He worked on both bilateral and syndicated financing facilities. Imad worked for an Islamic leasing company, The International Leasing & Investment Company, in Kuwait prior to working with law firm. He was involved in reviewing major leasing transactions and developing an Islamic finance contract legal package for new Islamic leasing and investment companies. He holds a masters degree in comparative laws from International Islamic University Malaysia and a bachelor’s degree in law from Osmania University.
